I've wanted to do a Point Break print for years! Growing up my friends and I watched this movie a lot. I think being from Canada, surfing movies were a little extra awesome to us because it was a lifestyle we couldn't really experience or live. The colors are a bit of a homage to the Endless Summer poster. (except I used red instead of Pink) I was also going for the early 90's surf colors. A little tribute to Swayze and his character Bodhi. Visual Technicians: Est 2003
I started out back in 2003 doing everything by hand. I hand-cut every layer of film that was physically possible. Using rubylith I cut each layer with an exacto knife. I hand pulled each print and hung it to dry on a clothes peg. There was no automated printing or drying. As the demand grew, I couldn't keep producing my prints that way. I probably would have gone insane! I now have the amazing help of D&L Screenprinters in Seattle.
